This summer Scouts BSA can participate in an online community through TMR GO.  Four Weeks of fun camp programming. Participating Scouts can choose to virtually attend interactive webinars and conferences on a variety of subjects relevant to Scouts BSA aged youth. Each day Scouts will receive a daily themed email drop with online content and videos to review. That themed subject matter will be discussed and expanded upon in an optional mid-day call where staff will lead the conversation, and explore the topic in depth with those in attendance.

Scouts can select from an assortment of online Merit Badges to complete via Google Classrooms. This means Scouts do not have to log-in to attend virtual classes during the day but can work on Merit Badge requirements on their time and at their own pace with resources provided in a Google Classroom based on the curriculum implemented at the Ten Mile River Scout Camps.

During the evenings Scouts in TMR GO can elect to join in a 7PM video chat based around Scouting subjects. Talk with Seabase, Philmont, and Jamboree participants about the High Adventure opportunities Scouting offers and how you can participate. Hear from recent Eagle Scouts about their trail to Eagle and get helpful insight and tips for your own process. Learn from TMR Camp Staff members if working at Summer Camp might interest you, and more!

This summer we want to encourage our Scouts to engage in safe and fun outdoor activities when possible. Our program will not feature mandatory meetings that keep Scouts locked to the computer screen but rather opportunities to engage with important subject matter and an avenue for the completion of Merit Badges and advancement that allows Scouts to complete requirements on their schedule.

TMR GO will run for 4 Weeks this summer beginning with an opening virtual campfire on Sunday, July 12th.

Scouts will receive a daily email drop at 9AM each weekday, with links to readings, videos, and online resources related to a daily subject. A 1PM Scouts can join an online seminar to further explore the daily subject. These seminars will be lead by TMR and GNYC Staff and feature guest presenters.

We will use the Scouting At Home “Advancement Academy” structure to enable Scouts to work towards completion of Merit Badges on their own time. by utilizing Google Classrooms and Flipgrid.
