Help share the real Scout Camp experience by making short videos that teach skills, tell stories, and inspire others! Whether you’re filming yourself or your friends, follow these easy steps to make your videos awesome and camp-friendly! These videos can be used by your Troop to help recruitment or may be featured on Ten Mile River Social Media.
Start with an Introduction
Always say your first name and troop number at the beginning of the video.
Example: “Hi, I’m Alex from Troop 42!”
Speak in a Complete Sentence
Make sure your answer or explanation makes sense on its own. Example: “My favorite part of camp this week was canoeing on the lake.”
Keep It Short
Aim for 15 to 45 seconds per video. One clear idea is better than five!
Film Vertically (Portrait Mode)
That’s the format used for Instagram Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts.
Check the Background
Record in a clean, safe area that shows cool parts of camp—like the woods, the lake, the trails
Speak Clearly and Confidently
Don’t rush! Take a breath, look at the camera, and smile.
Avoid Wind and Loud Background Noise
If it’s windy, face away from the wind or record in a quiet space.
