Working Papers

Who needs them?

*Staff ages 16-17 are required to provide working papers.
CITs (age 15) are NOT required to provide working papers.

How do I get them?
→ NY residents: Ask your school’s front office or guidance about applying for working papers.
→ Out of state residents: New York requires you to apply for NY working papers, even if you live in another state. Any school in NY state is required to accept and process working papers, even if you don’t go to that school.

If it is not feasible for you to get to a school in NY, TMR will help you acquire working papers. There are two steps:

1) Fill out the application for working papers (part 1 only). Please check the box for Student General Employment Certificate

2) Use the form below to upload your completed application and proof of age identification, such as your birth certificate, a state-issued photo ID, driver’s license, or passport.

Please let your camp director know if you have any questions!
